11.14.2009 So that's what it's like

With all the free time this year, we haven't taken many m-cycle trips. I've only worked about 3 1/2 months the entire year.
So although we had the time, we didn't have the money. We spent alot of time trying to sell "stuff" just to pay the bills. Thank goodness we had stuff to sell.
So today I thought I would just spend some time remembering what it used to be like to ride. Thank goodness for memories too.
OOOOOHHHHHH, I remember now, I can feel the wind in my hair!
Gotta get my motor running. I think I'll start my bike just to hear it run.

11.13.2009 Cool things

There are some things that are just cool. They are many times impractical, but hey we still for some reason, like them. The pictures above are of what i like to call "cool things". My wife rolls her eyes at me when i see them or want to take pictures of them. She says what purpose does that serve, it's just a thing.
But I'll take it anyway and she lets me be me. They would serve no real practicable purpose in my life, but if i could get them, I WOULD!!!!!!!!
I guest that's the little boy inside of me.

11.11.2009 Who's really in control

It seems my life goes on and on but nothing really changes. I'm like that saying on my M-n-Laws blog. "Inside every old person is a young person saying, what happened".
We inherited my dad's cat, Princes, in 2000. She follows me everywhere I go, yes even to the bathroom. I feel like she is my shadow.
Anywhere I start to sit down she is already airborn and when my hinney hits the chair within a split seconds she lands perfectly in my lap. Then she'll look me dead in the eyes as if saying "I wuv u".
It gets on my nerves so bad but then that little look, I really think she has me "TRAINED". Then I get on my own nerves for letting her control me so. But then things never really change do they? So we'll keep up this cycle of sit, leap, land, look.......
Well here we are today, Princes and I, she has me so wipped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

11, 10,2009 NEW LOOK

Here's my bike a few months ago. I have always loved this look. I love my bike.

The cold weather sapped the juice out of my battery. So Monday I had to jump it. In the process I had to take the back seat, backrest and luggage rack all off just to get the front seat off to get to the battery area. Usually doing all of this is not needed. Too many details to go into here, plus I just want to forget the experience.
I got the bike started and the battery recharged, (back on top now)!!!!! Putting the accessories back on and I hit upon a great ideal, leave the backrest off. With all the kids grown and riding their own bikes now, I don't have to cover an extra rider. Another reason I've keep the backrest is because my bike has become the pack horse for almost all our "stuff" when we go on trips, something that always gets my nerves.
I figured leave the backrest off and if we go on vacation it is only five minutes and the backrest is back on. Sooooo here is the bike as it sets now. Bikes always take better pictures from the other side when on the kickstand, unless you have one like my M-n-Laws that stand straight up when in park.

I don't know if I'm completely sold on the NEW LOOK yet but I'll try anything. One good thing about all the accessories is you can mix/match and it's like having several different bikes.

Time will tell with this version.

4/18/2009 How dare he

Disturbing, the image of America submitting to Islam!

I don't know if you all saw the news the other day on President obama visiting arab nations. But if you didn't, here is what he did.
While visiting an arab nation he bowed down and kissed the ring of that countries leader. This demonstrates a submissive act on the part of the United States of America. Never do we as free people bow to any man, especially a leader of another country.
With this act, our president was paying homage to that leader as a superior thereby putting us (US) in the role as submissive servants. Things in this country are changing at an accelerated pace.
As far as I'm concerned with this act our president has shown a lack of true leadership and guts to stand side by side with other leaders as equals in the leading of our Nation. How dare any President of the US bow to any leader. This is not a show of respect but one of cowardliness. Our leaders need to get a backbone and take a stand.
If we are not careful and attentive to our country and government, we wont even recognize it by the end of obamas first term.
Many will say that I being to picky, but it is a possibility that by the end of obamas first term we will be legally with holding proper medication for our elderly because they are determined to not posses a quality of life and the legal killing of new born babies for the same reason.
They are already saying that time out punishment for a child is abuse and that taking our children to Church is a form of abuse.
WAKE-UP-AMERICA!

Fast but really tired!

4/11/2009 Fast and really tired!
After four months of doing nothing but recuperating, we have one house to build. It's on Lake Linville, Mount Vernon , Ky. This is from the back facing the lake. As you can see the view is beautiful.
We started April, Tuesday 7th, 09.

Here we are April, Thursday 9th, 09, we are top plating all the walls in the house. You can see the lake in the back ground.

April, Thursday 9th, 09, we are all finished ready to start the ceiling joists and roof. Three days and ready for the roof, we didn't work Friday because of rain so we had a day off.
I was glad for the day off, because I was so tired and sooooo sore.

Marvels that fascinate!

4/4/20009 Sailing ships.
Here is another of my favorite time lines in the world, the old ships that sailed the high seas. I love movies that have these older ships in them.

As I watch them I am amazed at how they were ale to build them and actually sail across the oceans, especially when the storms raged on them.

I don't have any desire to ever have been on one of them as a crew member or anything like that. I just love the way they moved on the seas and survived the storms.

It's fascinating to me to watch them rise and dip in the waves of the oceans. The water breaking over the bow and sides, sometimes the thing looks like it's going under, then it pops back up.

Ooooh yeeeaaah!

4/2/2009 Oooooh yeeeaaah!
A good friend of mine gave me a heart gift for Christmas 08. I work for him and met him up town for my paycheck and he opened the truck of his wife's car and said here these are for you.

This is what he gave me, a pair of hard-sided leather saddle bags. oh yeah I was happy.

Here's another shot, they look good. It's good to have good friends.

Here's a shot looking down my hyper-charger. Along with the power commander they boost horsepower and reaction to throtle response. Look out don't get sucked down these intakes.

Twisted priorities!

3/30/2009 Twisted priorities!
Well our Country has done it again. What you ask? They have went and enacted one of those idiotic laws that's about as stupid as it comes. Read on!!!!
Spokane County, Washington (the state) became the launch pad last July for the nation's strictest ban on dishwasher detergent made with phosphates, a measure aimed at reducing water pollution. The ban will be expanded statewide in July 2010, the same time similar laws take effect in several other states.
To beat it all the new detergents don't even work.
This country passes the most stupid laws I know.
They care more for the environment than they do their own people. What about all the "GROWTH" hormones and "STEROIDS" and preservatives they put into our foods everyday? There are tests that prove these are affecting our health and especially the health of our youth. They don't care for the health of the poeple but will ban everything coming down the pick to save a tree, a bush or a weed. Can't do anything to upset the mighty dollar.
When it comes down to "ENVIRONMENT vs MANKIND", man will lose everytime.
I'm all for taking care of our world, but our main concern must be the people who inhabit it first.

Things remembered!

I was sitting today reading. After I finished I was thinking of a post for the day. The last few days have been busy and I haven't gotten to do any post's.
There are several different subjects that I want to do posts on so the next several days are covered. But today I wanted to post on the small things in life we as humans kinda cherish.
They may be insignificant to others but hold special places in our own hearts that can't be easily explained. We just know we like them and that's enough for us.
Well, this is one of them, my mother-n-law, Sandy, got this for me on one of their trips. It's carved out of real antler. It's from Montana. We have had it for several years now and is one of those gifts that I hold dear. Sometimes in this life it's the little things that have the most meaning.
Look around and do an inventory, I believe we'll all be surprised at the little things we have that bring smiles to our faces today.

I want one each please!

Here is the BMW Mini XXL. I don't think I could get Sharon to drive me around in it, she'd want me to drive her.

I think we'll have to extend the garagre area??????????

1966 Shelby Cobra "Super Snake". This car is awesome. It just sold for 5.5 million. I counted all our money and I was just a little short, darn that other $5,499,998.82. Well maybe next time!

Man, 8 doors and jacked to the sky. My blood is ragging. Wouldn't this be cool to pull up to church in. I can just see the pastors eyes. Everything we do own to drive is some shade of red, even the kid's cars are red. My favorite color is a deep burgundy red. And this thing is red to beat, I think that's a sign.

Honey where's your money stash???????????

Home sweet home!

Mar 17, 09-Magen and me fishing at our pond in front of our house. I'm facing toward our house.
Miles is sitting with us, he is named after Sharon's dad, who is buried up behind where miles is sitting.

This is directly infront of our house, we enjoy fishing in this pond that was built and stocked by Sharon's parents 30 yrs ago.

To the left is the cabin her parents built 25 yrs ago, Sharon's brother (Brian) and family live there now.
Our house is to the right, we started construction in 1997, cleared the land by hand and Sharon and I did all the work ourselves exterior and enterior. My father-n-law Jimmy Wallace, helped us put on the wooden siding. Building our own house was a dream come true for both of us and as dreams go, don't really want to dream that dream again.

Our house is directly to the left and the cabin is directly to the right. They are out of picture.
The two bottom pic's are taken directly oppisite each other.

3/22/2009 My how time fly's!

Here is Br. Bobby and wife.
Last night Sharon and I went to our Church to celebrate his 50th birthday. His family came in from everywhere, several from out of state.
They invited everyone from the Church who could come. There was food and cake and soda. We all had a great time. Just before we finished eating they played a video of pictures all about Bobby. From his childhood to the present. Believe me, there were some cute pictures, some cool pictures and some that where hilarious. So we all ate and watched and laughed many times very hard.

To wrap thing up beore the cake, they took Bobby up on stage and "roasted" him. Pastor Hobbs was first, Br. Bill, then Bobby's Brother and then Br Daryl.
They made us laugh and Bobby would sometimes blush and cover his face (nothing bad just funny). When they would start a story, Bobby would roll his head and begin laughing and that would make us anticipate the story even more.
We enjoyed ourselves and "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOBBY"!!!!!!!!!

America

America, the greatest gentile nation on the earth, founded on Christian principles. I fully support our troops and the war effort, I don't get the "crazy" mindset of some people who want to cave-in and bow to terrorists, thinking that if we leave them alone they'll leave us alone.
Need we remind the USA about the 911. They attacked us, we have not only the right, but the responsibility to defend ourselves. In war things happen, but alot of America has turned into a nation of weak minded scaredy cats.
You say, "who do you think you are, you havent lost anyone over there". My son honorably served his tour there, walking patrols and clearing building and being shot at by cowards hiding in the civilian population. We wear uniforms, walk the streets and they call our troops cowards. And my Commanding Officer with his copilot were the first American pilot POW's in the first Iragi war, Dessert Storm.
If this Nation had done its job right and finished the first war we wouldn't be back there now. But the cowardness of many withdrew our troops before that could be done. So, we have no one to blame but ourselves.
We are the first nation all other Countries call on for help.
They want so much from us then turn their noses up at us when they don't need us anymore. When they can't defend themselves our phone rings. Like the nation we have helped secure freedom for, then they throw shoes at our President on national tv. Then, many gather and have a organized shoe throwing protest against our pressence.
But that is the quality that makes us great. Our forgiving spirit that lets us reach out to others in their time of desperation.
Even when we know they will eventually come to protest our very presence. Sometimes, maybe, we should just let them fight their own war then they'd appreciate us more.

Another fishy story!!

Here it is, my trophy Kentucky bass . It was several years ago when I caught it.
Back in the day when I fished almost everyday of the year, not just those pretty days. I mean sometimes i fished when it was snowing and really cold.

From this point of view it looks downright scarey. Could you imagine being inhaled into that mouth? This is the last picture a bait fish ever sees. It's rightout frightening.
This bass is the Kentucky state fish. It has a large appetite but does not get as large or heavy as the American Black bass. Just looking at them together you could barely tell them apart. After some study you would learn their differences, but the easiest is the Ky bass has a "tooth" patch on the tongue.
Ky has a Ky. trophy fish program and it is a great program. Bass are not the only fish in the trophy program, you would be surprised at the many different types and species of fish in this program.
Many fishermen participate in it each year. No, it is not run through tournaments and there are no entry fees. Each participant can fish anytime they chose at their leasure. When you catch a trohy fish just go through the certification process and submit. It's simple.
It's a great fishing program for the entire family. Here is the link for fish Species and categories: eligibility list.
It's simple, it's easy so check it out and enjoy. Pass the word about the program.

If I had my choice

I love the old days when KNIGHTs and kings and kingdoms walked the earth. The "medieval times" as we know them. If I had my choice I would want to be born back in those days. I love the armor and all that time frame entails. I tell my wife all the time that my motorcycle is my iron horse and all I need is my sword and armor. She rolls her eyes and shakes her little head at me.

I like all kinds of swords and armor. My favorite is the types carried by the KINGHTs of old. The samurai sword era is my next favorite.

My favorite style sword is the ones carried by KNIGHTs, Here is my rendition of Excalibur. I love the story of King Arthur and his men. My all time favorite movie for this era is King Arthur w/Clive Owen, second is First Knight w/Sean Connery & Richard Gere.
What draws me so much to this era is the honor and chivalry and dedication to king & fellow KNIGHTs. I love qualities such as courage, loyalty, commitment and consideration for others, especially to the underpriviledged. I have always stood for those who could not defend themselves, sometimes against three or four at a time. I always thought how cowardly for two or more to pick on one. The odds aren't fair, so in I'd go to defend.

A visiting we do go

Friday afternoon we had a visit with the N-laws. It was a good time.
Here is my Father-n-law, Jimmy, he is watching UK get their shorts beat off them. During commercial breaks he was always up waiting on the cats, I think they have him trained pretty good. I think I'll send Sharon over there for some of that "waiting on" training. I wonder how much that'd cost me??????????

Here is Sharon & her mom, we spent alot of time learning different stuff from each other because we all blog. Sandy knows all kinds of little tricks to get things done quickly so Sharon and I paid close attention. We found and signed up for our online Picasa accounts. That was cool because we didn't know how to set them up, turns out Google set them up for us, we just had to "code" in. I spent some time today squaring mine away.
Here is one of their cats; can't remember its name. Seems human names ain't the only ones I have trouble remembering. All their cat are healthy, I wish ours were. One week ours are fat the next their skin and bones (diet stays the same). They also had three kittens that just opened their eyes. Had to threaten Sharon to stay away from them. I gotta watch Jimmy he'll slip one of them kittens into Sharons pocket and I know she wouldn't say anything until we got home. Looking forward to another visit.
